Army Aviation Support Facility Apron

PROJECT OVERVIEW

This project included the reconstruction of a concrete apron required for the landing and temporary parking of eight Rhode Island Army National Guard Black Hawk helicopters. The work involved the removal and disposal of over 20,000 cubic yards of existing apron material, installation of new drainage system, placement of new gravel base, construction of a new concrete landing pad (320’ x 1200’), and the placement of 13,000 TON of bituminous apron area.
